Q: Our family just adopted a new puppy, how do I get started?

A: FREE CONSULTATION!

We'll come to you, meet your new pup and discuss your wants, desires and goals in training. From there, we'll develop a program that suits you and your family best. There is no obligation after the first meeting. You need to be ready and committed to start a customized training program.

Q: What is expected of me and my family following this method of training?

A: DO YOUR HOMEWORK!

Following the instructions and lessons your trainer gives you each week.

Q: How is Hoosier Good Dog? different from other training programs?

A: PERSONALIZED ATTENTION!

Hoosier Good Dog? comes to you, at a convenient time in your home, your dog's natural environment. Dogs learn faster when relaxed and in a familiar setting, as opposed to group settings or pet store classes.

Q: Can children participate?

We welcome children to participate and think its a very important part of the dog/family relationship. Hoosier Good Dog? supports socializing with children of all ages. We also teach children how to behave around their dog, what signs to look for when the dog wants to play, or when the dog wants to be left alone.

Q: Does my dog need to be current on vaccinations?

All dogs must show they are current on the following vaccinations: Distemper/Parvo/Parainfluenza, Bordatella (aka kennel cough) and Rabies.

Puppies must show they are current on Distemper/Parvo/Parainfluenza, Bordatella and have their Rabies vaccine before 6 months of age.

This not only ensures the health of your pet, but the safety of your trainer and other dogs in our training program.

Q: What if my dog isn't "getting it?"

A: TIME, PATIENCE, CONFIDENCE AND LOVE!

Each dog or puppy is a unique individual who will learn at their own pace. They can do it, YOU can do it and we will show you how! If you have a truly difficult dog with other behavioral problems such as aggression or fearfulness, Hoosier Good Dog? trainers can offer you behavior modification classes for an additional fee.
